How to apply for jobs

The process of applying for jobs in Singapore can be interpreted by different people in different ways. Here is my idea.

The most important thing is the CV. You have to create an eye catching CV and have to take some time to do it. This is a gradual process and can't be done over night. So, create a CV and just share it with us. Then we can make some comments on it. Don't be feel ashamed to post your CV here, because we all had same time as you are experiencing now. So this is the first task.

After a composition of a 'good' CV with the comments of the others, you can create profiles in Monster, efinancialcareers.sg, JobsDB, JobStreet, etc; My personal ideas is first two sites are genuine and you have to focus on them rather the later two.

Until this point you are not supposed to apply for jobs, because there will be a higher probability of receiving calls for the new profiles.

Then start your hunt. In order to do so, you have to create a covering letter and it would be better include it in the sending mail to the each agent or HR in a company. When you are doing to please save each your applications in different folders and name them with company name. In the future, when you will get calls, you can immediately go to the directory and quickly switch to the context.

Don't send same CV to the everyone. You have to edit your CV and covering letter according to the job description. You can also create a filter in gmail in order to filter the sent emails for the ease of future references.

These are my ideas and they may vary from the context. It would be better to have more ideas from our people around here and you can make your own philosophy of "How to apply for the jobs"

Good luck.
